What our field engineers are up to during lock-down

Lines

We recently caught up with our office staff to see what they were doing and how they were keeping positive and sane during self-isolation. But what about our engineers, who are used to being on their feet and out on the road? We caught up with our field staff to see how their routine has changed while in lockdown!

How are you spending your time during self-isolation?

I’m currently helping reconfiguring the surgeries that my wife manages, fitting out rooms with shelves, etc. and moving 52000 patient records from one site to another.

What are your top tips for staying positive?

Keeping busy doing odd jobs around the house, dog walking and tinkering with the car.

What are you most looking forward to at the end of lockdown?

I’m most looking forward to being able to just move around, visit pubs and restaurants etc. as I
suffer badly from cabin fever!

All in all, just making the best of it really!

How are you spending your time during self-isolation?

Apart from having to adjust to being at home so much (or maybe my family are having
to adjust to me being present) I’ve spent most of my time training to become a premier league cleaner for all things in front of me…

What are your top tips for staying positive?

Positivity comes partly from using that gym equipment in the garage, that for years were gathering dust and had the primary task of being a resting place for golf clubs and chamois leathers.
I’ve now discovered these machines are actually designed with a certain use in mind…

What are you most looking forward to at the end of lockdown?

Finally in answer to the last two questions, I’m turning this colosseum style of a body into a temple design, and reducing the 24-pack closer to a 6-pack. I think the 2021 Olympics has to be on the radar (speciality sport not yet confirmed).

How are you spending your time during self-isolation?

Currently I’ve replaced all the upstairs door frames and doors in my house. This started with extending my youngest daughter’s bedroom but now I’ve got all the skirting boards and architraves to use (I’m getting a bit sick of it now to be honest!). When I fancy a change from joinery, I have a few cars requiring a bit of work which has been great to do while the weather has been so good!

What are your top tips for staying positive?

To be honest I’ve really enjoyed spending time with the kids, but it’s weird not been able to get to the park etc.

What are you most looking forward to at the end of lockdown?

I guess getting out and about and back to normal, popping for a pint with mates, seeing my old folks in person is what I’m looking forward to most!
